Rekomando: Skotsko / Scotland / Alba IV

Friday, December 30th, 2011

Skoro komplet pobřeží Skotska počínaje Dumfries & Galloway, přes Argyll a Isle of Skye do severních, většinou liduprázdných, skalnatých oblastí Highlands, tedy Wester Ross, Sutherland, Caithness, zpátky na jih přes Black Isle, Moray, Grampian a Fife až k Lothian a pláním oblasti Scottish Borders.

Phew, after two months of total massacre when, having returned from Scotland, I was breaking my back from morning till late at night, sitting at my computer and translating 300 pages from English into Czech and 100 pages in the opposite direction, I’ve finally got down to publishing another load of pictures from Scotland. These are from this year’s massive 40-day trip, which involved almost 7000 km along roads, in mountains, on islands, ruins. Nearly complete coast of Scotland from Dumfries & Galloway, across Argyll and the Isle of Skye to the northern, mostly deserted rocky areas of the Highlands, i.e. Wester Ross, Sutherland, Caithness, back to the south through the Black Isle, Moray, Grampian and Fife to Lothian and plains of the Scottish Borders. I churned out about 7000 (seven thousand words) pictures most of which are rather shitty, so 805 photos survived my self-critical choice. I love Scotland. The only thing that can cast a pall over the photos (literally) is the weather and the light associated with it, so unless you have a great camera (I don’t), the result may be 60% of the images unusable for this reason (as in this case). But there were still quite a few to choose from. If you click the mouse on the pictures they will open in a new window in a higher resolution. Enjoy.

PS: Never leave your camera on the roof of your car.
